A buddy of mine let me borrow his schecter revenger 7 for a little project I'm workin on and I found that I LOVE 7 strings. So now I'm in a pickle... He's willing to sell me the revenger (with dimarzio d activator 7 installed in the bridge) for $250. Pretty killer deal. My other option is that I buy that beautiful agile 727 with the maple fretboard(the purple one... shut it). But the 727 is way more than twice the price once I put new pickups in it. Please, lend me your knowledge!

Forgot to mention that my water pump just blew in my car not even 20 minutes after I bought AD(which I am loving, by the way)... so money'll be tight for a while.

I think you'd get a lot more mileage out of the 727 with decent pickups in the long run.. I heard the stock ones are acceptable for the price point (better than, say, Ibanez's stock pickups) and you can step up to something else down the line. Secondhand Dimarzios go for dirt cheap.

Hmm, Agiles are still Chinese-made guitars, likely in a sweatshop...makes me nervous about the quality (not to mention the human rights abuses you'd be directly supporting)

Best 7 string I've ever laid hands on = Schecter Loomis 7. Amazing clarity and bad ass all around features. If you can snag a used one on ebay or somewhere I'd go for that. I sold it though cuz I found the ghost of Loomis in my playing. I would always want to play Nevermore or chug on that LOW B. Bad habit for me. I'm more creative with a standard 6. BUT if you really want to be cheap I'd say go for the Schecterrrrrr.

to be honest, either one I get will probably rarely leave the studio... seeing as how most of the guys around here want to be in the devil wears prada. eh. So keep in mind that it doesn't exactly have to be "road worthy".

Well then, try both of those out and pick which one sounds/feels better!

God damn scene music.. devil wears prada .. shit.. fuckin fuck.. :bah:

At that price point the schecter would probably be good, I've only played the hellrasier 7 in their line and its savage.
My Bro's got that and an ibanez 76** and the schecters a more solid guitar but the ibanez makes for a better transition from a 6 string.
I've only heard good things about Agiles, they're supposed to have quality and features way above their price point.

I'd got for the schecter if it were me. Have a lurk over at sevenstring.org- its a class forum and your bound to find out loads about both axes over there

Man... if only! That's actually what's making the purchase kind of a big question mark for me. I can't actually go out and play the agile.

...and I agree with everything stated.

Well dude here's the biggest lesson I've learned with owning shit loads of different guitars/amps. 98.77% of the time... you get what you pay for.

yeah... tough lesson! I guess I'm the guy who's always lookin for that little gem.

I actually never payed much attention to the loomis model... but damn I love that maple fretboard! mmmmmm. Maybe if I ever sell this bass I'll be able to sink some major cash into it

It's a bad ass guitar man. Mine was only a little more than one month old and I only got $575.00 out of it... I think you would dig it man. The string-through is cheaper (for one obvious reason) so try finding one of those. I just think the ash body and maple neck gave the low end such a nice attack with sweet clarity. BUT beauty of tone is in the eye... or ear of the beholder. Good luck man!

kids around here are fucking obsessed with that band...shit's just retarded

Don't knock Agile's until you've played one properly set up ^_^

I recently bought their lowest grade les paul ( http://www.rondomusic.com/al2000whitegoldhw.html ) and I think the hardware/playability is just as good if not better than epiphone/ltd guitars, and their high end models come with the same shit as 800$+ epiphone/ltd's. The pickups are just about standard passive humbuckers...shit (I hate the sound of Gibson LP Pickups anyway so that doesn't help) But regardless...I got a "decent" les paul and EMG's for over 150$ less than the epiphone les paul would be just by itself so im happy!

They also sell guitars with active EMG's installed as well which is pretty sweet http://www.rondomusic.com/product1075.html

Epiphones and LTD's are NOT the same quality. That being said, I have not played an Agiles, but I keep hearing good things about them.

How are LTD's (500-900$ range) and Epiphones not "identical" build qualities? Same wood? Same pickups?

LTD shits on Epiphone in terms of quality of construction - you can have the same woods and pickups (even though they don't ;)), but if one is put together by a half blind retard with Parkinson's, it's not gonna be quite the same :loco:
