Forbes Senior Contributor, Hugh McIntyre, is reporting that while Black Label Society is accustomed to delivering hard-hitting, riff-heavy anthems, this week the band achieves something brand new. The outfit storms back onto the Billboard rankings – well, one of them – not just with a fresh track, but with a milestone chart hit.

The band’s latest release, “Lord Humungus,” earns a special entrance on this week’s “Hard Rock Digital Song Sales” chart. The ranking, which highlights the bestselling hard rock-only tunes in the US, now features the track, which debuts at #6.

Surprisingly, despite a career spanning many years, Black Label Society has never before reached the “Hard Rock Digital Song Sales” chart. “Lord Humungus” marks the group’s first appearance on the tally in any capacity. The list, which now only features 10 spaces per week, used to be longer, and now it’s even harder to secure a coveted slot these days.
