Anyone here a fan of Black Oak Arkansas?
I have been looking at getting the best of issued
by Rhino. I have been hearing a lot of their stuff lately
on this classic radio station & I like what I heard.
Any suggestions on a particular record?
Or should I go for the compilation?

SWINE! Here's some triva for ya! Did you know that Jim Dandy is Roth's #1 influence??? He talks about it on that VH Early Years dvd that's out. He said that Roth came to him when VH first started out and asked if it was ok if he stole some of Jim's stage moves and schtick! No lie. So Roth was HEAVILY into Black Oak Arkansas. With that in mind, you can really see the similarities. But I've never actually listened to much of them myself. Just thought I'd chime in.

Yeah, I know the story well. If you look at early pictures of both Jim Dandy & DLR you'd swear it was the same person!
