BLACK SEPTEMBER - TIDE OF THE STORM
In 2006 a sickening metal band came about from Chicago, IL. Black September has released a brutally beautiful album of intense death metal, seemingly mixed with a black metal influence (I guessed on that). 5 tracks of grim tempo and a hellish vocal style reminiscent of Incubus (the Louisiana metal band) and speedsters legend, Sadus! Remember, this is a female fronted band. This makes no difference in the death metal underground because this female kicks major ass on Black September's debut release! Almost a half hour assault is thrown into the person's face, relentless guitar attacks, groovy tempo changes, and a way of just pushing this music across the brutal death metal line! A band whose influences include that of Benediction and Bolt Thrower, Black September is amazingly great for a band that was born a year and a half ago! Fans of old school, and the newer sickness around will enjoy this opus from Black September, check them out. this band deserves a long tenure in the music business if they keep churning out madness like this. "Tide of the Storm" is a definite motherfucker in the underground world! this gets an 8!!! (Alex, Burning Ceremonies)
