BLACK VEIL BRIDES have split with bassist Ashley Purdy. The band broke the news of Purdy's departure via a statement posted on its social media channels. "BLACK VEIL BRIDES and Ashley Purdy have mutually agreed to part ways," the statement reads. "We have enjoyed a wonderful run together and both parties wish one another continued success moving forward." Purdy joined BLACK VEIL BRIDES in 2009 and appeared on all five of the band's studio albums. Earlier this week, BLACK VEIL BRIDES was announced as one of the support acts for IN THIS MOMENT on the spring 2020 "The In-Between Tour". Purdy made headlines in July 2018 for saying during an appearance on a since-deleted "Another FN Podcast" episode that last year's Vans Warped Tour dates would be "the last time" fans would see BLACK VEIL BRIDES. One day after BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack did a round of interviews shooting down the split report, Purdy took to his Twitter account to give his side of the story, insisting that his words were taken out of context. BLACK VEIL BRIDES will celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut album, "We Stitch These Wounds", next year by releasing a re-recorded version of the LP, along with some new songs. "We Stitch These Wounds" was issued in July 2010 via StandBy Records and was BLACK VEIL BRIDES' only studio album to feature drummer Sandra Alvarenga before she left the band and joined MODERN DAY ESCAPE. BLACK VEIL BRIDES' latest album, "Vale", came out in January 2018 via Lava/Universal Republic. The follow-up to BLACK VEIL BRIDES' 2014 self-titled effort was produced by John Feldmann at his Southern California studio. Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Black) released his sophomore album, "The Ghost Of Ohio", in April via Lava/Republic.
