Blackmore's Night

Don't know what the general consensus is, but I love them. Ritchie Blackmore is the fuckin' man, and his folk stuff kicks ass. I own Village Lantern and Fires At Midnight. Both awesome albums.

I thought it was fucking horrible when I bought one of their albums. I was extremely disappointed, I was hoping for awesome Purpleish shit

I bought "Beyond The Sunset" for my girlfriend and enjoy it. Blackmore's guitar work is excellent thru out. A good album to sit by a fire on a cold winters night with your significant other.

I think it's awesome that they're doing such legitimate folk. But certainly not my cup of tea. I mainly like my "folk" done with basic acoustic guitar chords and rockish lyrics like Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Real folk is not my thing.

^That's interesting. I really like Blackmore's Night, but I've grown away from them as I expand my folk tastes.

The more I listen, the more I find Blackmore's Night to be too clean and polished for me. I'm actually really digging the raw, dark sound of Empyrium right now. Thanks to Seditious for the recommendation.
