I got this on the BG forum. This setlist is pretty incredible, and I truly hope they do this for Progpower

War of wrath
Into the storm
Welcome to dying
Nightfall
Script for my Requiem
The Lord of the Rings
Born in a mourning hall
Valhalla
Majesty
The Soulforged
Bright eyes (!!!!)
Modreds song
And then there was silence (HELL FREAKIN YEAH!!)
Bard's song
Lost In The Twilight Hall
Time stands still
Imaginations from the other side
Mirror Mirror

I'm sure you can note where my two favorite songs are. And 2 big surprises. If they keep this setlist for PP, I'll be SO damn happy.

Oh my holy lord, that is a fucking AWESOME set list. They just covered all the best songs from all their albums, it's like a greatest hits album, only 100000 times sweeter!! Oh God, the possibility that I might not be able to attend the show is now a huge weight on my mind. Please, dammit, please!

BTW Change of a Mem, where in CT are you? I'm in CT now, but moving to NYC next week.

Change, how the hell can they play ATTWS?!?!? I heard about that too, I wondered what it sounds like live? God, I can't wait for this concert! 13 weeks to go!

Did you get DT tickets? Don't remember if I asked you or not...

What, where is Time What is Time ??

That's a decent setlist, but they need to drop the crap off Imaginations and ANATO and play some more SFB.

!!!

Obviously, this is just a matter of opinion, but I consider Imaginations to be Blind Guardian's pinnacle achievement. I mean, Somewhere Far Beyond is great, too, but there's just something about Imaginations...some of the songs on SFB seem kind of uninspired, while every song on Imaginations seems like they just pulled out all the stops and said "look, this has to be nothing less than metal perfection."

Imaginations is one of my fav. BG albums, if not my favorite. ANATO I'd love to hear Age of False Innocence, since that's my fav. song on that album besides ATTWS. Other than that, I find the album kind of boring I guess. Doesn't really hold my interest too well.

Euro, I just got my DT ticket the other day actually. I decided that I might as well not miss it seeing as they're one of my favorites, and they always deliver with at the least a changing setlist (Unlike IRON MAIDEN! lol). I think I'm like in the mid/rear section.

I'm also wondering how they did ATTWS live...probably with an army of backing tape. :)

Actually, I believe they recreated the whole song, which is why Hansi warned the crowd before they were about to start it that it would take closer to 16-17 minutes to play because they were slowing down due to the complexity of the song. Of course, I wasn't there, so I have no idea, but this is some more info for you...

Yeah, I heard there was no backing tape/orchestration at all. That kind of sucks, but it'll be very interesting to hear live. If they play it, and everyone knew the chorus at least at PP to sing along to, it'll sound great in my opinon.

I was at Wacken. ATTWS sounded OK. In my opinion, it was their weakest sounding song of the Blind Guardian show. They only had one keyboard player and didn't have alot of the backing sound. It still sounded pretty sweet though.

By the way, I will have some pics posted on my website soon from my trip to Wacken, it anyone is interested.

Actually come to think of it, that's a pretty shitty setlist. If I had any say, it would go like this: (18 songs)

A Dark Passage
And Then There Was Silence
Lord of the Rings
Lost in the Twilight Hall
Majesty
Mirror Mirror
Nightfall
Somewhere Far Beyond
The Bard's Song
The Curse of Feanor
Theatre of Pain
Time What is Time
Valhalla
Welcome to Dying
When Sorrow Sang

Hmm..turns out to only be 15. Anyway, those are the classic songs that are "musts" in my opinion. In that list above, only 9 of 18 were these songs :(

Seriously though, why are they playing junk like Script For My Requiem, Born in a Mourning Hall, and The Soulforged, when they are skipping over classics like Time What is Time and Theatre of Pain?

I won't point out that this is all different people's opinions. Shit, I just did.

Anyway, I guess if they play that setlist (the Wacken one), you'll be disappointed, huh? Unless you're not going to ProgPower, in which case it doesn't matter, does it?

Huh. I thought it was the general consensus that Time What is Time is a classic, whereas Born in a Mourning Hall is not. Sure, some of those others I mentioned may not be too popular, but whatever. I won't be disappointed to see Blind Guardian no matter what they play.

Excellent pictures, it must have been absolutely suPERB over there...the whole Wacken I mean.

Now, if those pics would just 'click and enlarge'....:D

Sorry about the smallish pics... I have very limited server space (20MB), and I have a ton of other stuff I want to put on there.
