BLOODBATH - SO YOU DIE

transcribed by Jon (YourDeadGroom)
version 1.0

Notes: This is notated in E to make reading it less confusing, but each string should be tuned down to: (lowest to highest) B, E, A, D, F#, B.
Notes with a '*' next to it indicate that it should be speed picked.
'h' = hammer on, 'p' = pull off.
'tr' = trill. Rapid series of pull-offs & hammer-ons between the notes indicated, starting with the one in '()'.
'^' = string bend. Bend the note before the '^' up to the pitch of the note in '()' after it.
'<ph>' = pinch harmonic, fret the note at the indicated position, and create the harmonic with the pick hand.
Spacing and barlines are a rough approximation of rhythm only.
Riffs are only indicated the first time they are played, it's up to you to figure out where they may get repeated.
The use of '||' indicates the end of a riff/section.

If you're viewing this on a website, the formatting may look screwed up. Paste it into a text file, and it should look alright ;)

I didn't transcribe the solo at the beginning, apart from some harmonics it's just random guitar noise, I couldn't see any pattern to the notes even slowing it down to 1/4 speed, so I didn't bother with it. Just add your own random stuff ;)

alright, here's my question, just exactly how do I get that overdistorted tone heard on the bloodbath RTC album?????? anyone know?????????
You could try asking Dan over on the Swano board (either start a thread, or PM him. Actually, try a search on that forum, he may've discussed it back when the album came out), or PM Anders (goes by 'Blakkheim' on the Katatonia board) though Katatonia are on tour at the moment so he probably won't get it until they stop.

I'm out all day tomorrow, so the daily Bloodbath tabs will go on hold ;)
I'll do Soulcollector on Monday (that's probably Sunday for many of you;))

AFAIK it was recorded with a Boss HM-2 pedal (HM stands for heavy metal btw), so there you go...
...and of course: tune down to B.

The BOSS HM-2 was the rage of the Swedish Death Metal scene. Dismsmber, Entombed, et cetera, now Bloodbath.

These Bloodbath tabs sound perfect through the one my GF dug up for me on Ebay :D I just got ahold of one ths past year. So there should still be a few of them floatin' around.

Turn it up to the maximum setting, crank your amp up, and scare the neighbors. Just don't blow your throat out singing along.
