Bloodstock Open Air 2007

As for myself, primarily Dragonforce, I'd love them to play Bloodstock again.
I've seen them live twice, they put on a great show.

Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Burzum, Mayhem, Venom, Slayer, Children of Bodom, Sepultura, Deicide, Satyricon, Nile, Bathory, Celtic Frost.

Actually, I think I've just made-up my dream metal festival.
But since that's never going to happen, I'd be happy for ANY of those to play BOA.

Anyone else going?

And which other bands do you hope to be confirmed besides Blind Guardian, Rise To Addiction, and Korpiklaani?

I went to the first Bloodstock (with Return to the Sabbat, last Walkyier Skyclad performance, Orange Goblin). It was great - these days ? Too many fucking power metal bands - really.

Fuck the PM brigade. Get me a British Wacken style bill ? I'm there, dude

Fuck the PM brigade.

Yeah, totally agree.

I hate how there is nothing on offer for genuine extreme metal fans in the UK. At one end of the spectrum you have the over-priced, over-hyped abortion of Download, which annually desecrates the hallowed ground of Donnington, whose bill reads like that month's edition of Kerrang.

Then further North there's this Bloodstock business, which is far from a British Wacken despite the apparent partnership. The only purpose this seems to serve is to create a platform upon which everything mock-worthy about insincere metal fans can gather, plastic Viking helmets and all. Worse though is the fact that this just adds to the stereotype of the "hairy metaller", and the empty term "battle metal", and will make people assume that Bloodstock has the tastes of the typical underground metal fan covered.
