Blue Oyster Cult anyone?

Thanks to Iced Earth's covers of their songs on Tribute To The Gods, I'm thinking of checking out some BOC. I vaguely know "Don't Fear The Reaper" and I've heard tales of a version of "Born To Be Wild" which is far superior to Steppenwolf's original, but that's about it.

A quick look at Amazon tells me that Workshop of The Telescopes (a double best-of CD) is the best place to start. Anyone here got it?

Buy any of it you can get mate its all good from what i can remember my old man has alot of their stuff i havent actually got my hands of any of their gear but i know its all good start with the best of and work from there mate

A collection is always a good place to start. My personal favorite is the album "Fire of Unkown Origin".

Wrathy, an AMAZING band! Get 'Workshop of the Telescopes' to start with, then 'Blue Oyster Cult', 'Tyranny and Mutation', 'Secret Treaties', 'Agents of Fortune', 'Cultosaurus Erectus', 'Fire of Unknown Origin' and 'Imaginos'. 'Imaginos' might be hard to get these days however. Some of the BEST lead guitar work in rock history!
