Yep, that's a pretty accurate depiction. Guess it is going around pretty bad right now, and I think it caught me too. The timing couldn't be worse - three days before I move across the country

I feel ya man... I haven't got the flu but ever since I came back from progpower this year; my dog's been to the vet to find he had tapeworm, two funerals in as many days, a trip to the hospital for me, cancer scare with the grandmother and now it seems as tho my dog is sick again...

It's been going around pretty bad in southern, IL too. So far, I'm pretty healthy, but now that the semesters over, I'm wondering if I'll get sick. I have been exposed to enough sick classmates...
Had it about two weeks ago, damn for 4 days life sucked, thank god for good only mexican Caldo(a vegetable soup, with either beef or chicken) and i think it is the mexican version of penicillin, cause it made the sickness at least bearable. Thank goodness I am over it now, and just in time for the holidays and my retirement wooooohooooooo.

Thank you! But really, I hope things look up for you! They can't get much worse anyway, and if you believe in karma, fate, God, or whathaveyou then things should be on the upswing soon!
At least it's at the end of the semester. There's rarely a more inconvenient time to get majorly sick than right before finals. You work hard all semester, pay tons of money for the course and for text books, you study for hours every day, blow off parties and friends, and then life comes along and smacks you in the face with the flu right in time for final exams.
Your old stomping grounds - Minneapolis! And yes, in the middle of winter.
But you know I'm used to it! ;-)

I've generally been fortunate enough to NOT get sick around finals. Ever. I did get a really nasty infection the day I was supposed to go home one fall break in Undergrad, though. And of course, the ProgPower Plague kicked my ass quite solidly for two days, then lingered a handfull more.
I also, quite out of the blue, got the worst case of strep throat I'd ever had, in the middle of summer when I was...20? I woke up with a somewhat sore throat, and within an hour my throat was bleeding, and even thinking of swallowing set my throat ablaze with pain. I also almost threw up on the doctor who was swabbing my throat, because she took too damn long. I literally shoved her out of the way and made it to the biohazard bin just in time. And I had never thrown up from strep throat before. The whole thing was aweful. The up side? I haven't gotten Strep throat since.

No flu here yet, but I've had this lingering occasional cough (bringing up some phlegm) and general malaise for a few weeks now, it seems. I don't feel quite bad enough to call in to work (not that I can, since I'm in charge right now), but I realllly would like to.

Wow! You're nuts! I heard the "highs" are in the Teens and lows in the negatives!
What made you decide to do such a crazy thing and move that way? Job change?
