When I was a kid (probably around 9 or 10 actually), I wanted to play some chuggy Metallica riff on my brother's guitar, but couldn't handle palm mutes. He killed me when he found me putting Silly Putty on the bridge of his guitar. The stuff does work to make a palm mute sound though.
