BREAKING BENJAMIN frontman Benjamin Burnley spoke to HardDrive Radio about the band's upcoming acoustic album. The effort, which is tentatively due before the end of the year, will feature mostly reworked versions of the band's notable hits, including a couple from last year's "Ember" LP, plus one new song. "They all have orchestration on 'em — like, full orchestra on 'em," Burley said (see video below). "And then there's four that have guest vocalists that [are] really, really amazing. They did so good. I have Lacey Sturm — she used to be the singer for FLYLEAF — she's doing a song with me called 'Dear Agony'… She was great. She nailed it, man. And she's so fun to work with, too. She just nails it every time. And she's such an incredible singer. So she did that. And then Spencer [Chamberlain] from UNDEROATH did 'Red Cold River'. And then Adam Gontier, the original singer for THREE DAYS GRACE, he did a song called 'Dance With The Devil' with me. And then Mike [Michael Barnes], the singer for RED, did 'Failure' with me." According to Burnley, the guest singers for the acoustic record were selected because they "all are friends of mine. So I just was, like, 'How can we put some more of an original spin on this so it's not just a remake of things?'" he explained. "So that's what I came up with. And I tried to get a couple of more too, but it was a time thing. These guys, more so than anything, they're my friends. So that's what's cool about it to me — that they're my friends on a record with me." Last December, Burnley told Music Mayhem Magazine that BREAKING BENJAMIN will "do a small tour" to promote the acoustic album. "From that point on, we will try to incorporate that into our rock show as well once it becomes part of our catalog," he said. BREAKING BENJAMIN has just embarked on a summer 2019 North American headlining tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 35-city outing kicked off July 21 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre and will make stops in Detroit, Atlanta, Austin and more before wrapping September 25 in Salt Lake City, Utah at USANA Amphitheatre. BREAKING BENJAMIN is continuing to tour in support of its sixth studio album, "Ember". The disc debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and has spawned off two No. 1 rock radio hits with singles "Red Cold River" and "Torn In Two", marking the band's eighth and ninth No. 1 singles to date. "Ember" was released in April 2018 via Hollywood Records. Joining Burnley on the effort are guitarist Jasen Rauch (formerly of RED), guitarist/vocalist Keith Wallen (formerly of ADELITAS WAY), bassist/vocalist Aaron Bruch and drummer Shaun Foist.
