Brian Downey is a drummer and founding member of the legendary Dublin rock band, Thin Lizzy. Together with old and new companions from the Irish rock scene, he founded Brian Downey’s Alive And Dangerous in 2016 to pay homage to the rock sound of the seventies. In 2023, Brian Downey’s Alive And Dangerous performed at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, where the WDR Rockpalast recorded their concert.
Together with singer and guitarist Phil Lynott, Brian Downey was the only constant member of Thin Lizzy until their break-up in 1983, after which Downey continued to play in Lynott’s solo projects and with Gary Moore, live and on Moore’s world-famous Still Got The Blues album, among others.
Together with guitar virtuosos Brian Grace and Phil Edgar and bassist and singer Matt Wilson from Belfast, who is a worthy replacement for Phil Lynott, Brian Downey performs the hits of Thin Lizzy to rock fans all over Europe.
