On first listen and it reminds me of Survivor's Vital Signs. Catchy 80s style melodic rock.

That's pretty good stuff. I'd never heard BT before, and it does have that Survivor feel to it but also I'm reminded of an obscure band, Prophet.

Perfect album for summer driving. After buying it from iTunes I burnt a cd-r and added some Leverage tunes to fill out the disc.
Tired of Dreaming. A good song, but one that I'm not sure needed a cover just yet.
Seems to be a thing lately though with melodic rock bands. I think it's less a "cover" per se than reusing songs from the songwriting stable. Stan Bush has Lionville's "Thunder in Your Heart" on his latest album and there are a couple of other songs(mainly Frontiers songs) that I've heard on up to three albums. this was actually a pretty normal practice in the 60s, a dude would write a song and then a few bands would record it.
Happened a lot in the 80s with Jack Ponti. Responsible for tons of songs found on numerous albums. For instance both Babylon A.D., and Baton Rouge recorded the same song Desperate for their albums but thats just 1 of 100's of examples. Jack had a band called Surgin' and most of those songs were later made by BABYLON A.D., SHARK ISLAND, KEEL, BATON ROUGE, BONFIRE and JEFF SCOTT SOTO. IF you were to see all the bands he wrote for and how many bands recorded the same songs you'd be mind blown!
Lets not forget guys like Desmond Child either!
It happens a lot in the band AOR from France. He writes a song and it appears on about 3 or 4 albums later on. Even on his own albums a bit further down the line! Funny
Jim Steinman. How many albums has "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" appeared on? I know of three.
I'm looking forward to hearing Tired of Dreaming though. Brother Firetribe's singer has a VERY different style than Michael Eriksen. I wonder if the fact that both bands have a connection to Leverage is how the song got shared?
Although really, Brother Firetribe could have just recorded the entire The Magnificent album and it would have been a good Brother Firetribe album.

not bad, but I prefer "Leverage" due to the harder edge. He's a great vocalist though....I hope Leverage hasn't broken up, I can spin their discs all day long...

Totally agree with you. I'll take Leverage any day over BF because of their crunchiness. Leverage just rules and I love all their albums.
Peika Heino is one awesome vocalist who should get more recognition. If he could get a guest spot on something like the next Avantasia, that could help him on that point. Come on Tobias, Peika would fit just great.

I like Leverage well enough, but Brother Firetribe is way more in my wheelhouse. I do kind of wonder what he'd sound like in Threshold, as he comes pretty close to Mac's style of singing.
Leverage is the better band, IMO. They are a melodic rock/metal band, but their sound is whatever they want it to be. I guess the word I'm looking for is original. If Leverage decided to do something a little different next time, maybe more power metal, or progressive rock, it wouldn't really change the "brand" too much because at its core, Leverage is a band that makes whatever music they like. Brother Firetribe, on the other hand, is clearly trying to go for a specific throwback sound and have marketed themselves as that kind of band. I guess what I'm clumsily trying to say is that Leverage has it in them to make that knockout amazing album, while Brother Firetribe is what it is.
Ah, now I think I have it. Brother Firebtribe is to Leverage what The Magnificent is to Circus Maximus.

That's probably right. Personally, I'll get way more spins from Brother Firetribe and the Magnificent than I will the serious bands.
In case anyone's interested, it turns out Brother Firetribe's version of Tired of Dreaming is the original. According to Andrew McNiece at melodicrock.com, they wrote the song. So The Magnificent was the cover version.
