Bruce albums rerelease info

Now we just need Adrian to re-release all his stuff again. I just recently put the Psycho Motel CDs and ASaP on my iRiver - mmm, goodness.

He's rereleasing the Psycho Motel albums. I need ASaP though, not silly Psycho Motel. :(

I ain't listened to Silver & Gold in about ten years, I reckon.

I don't have any of the ASaP gear, or Psycho Motel :(
I haven't heard any of them either. I would be interested in hearing them to check out the quality of song writing more than because I think they would be good, if that makes any sense at all lol. I'm in no hurry at all.

These re-releases are cool. Would be good if they put out a box set of them, so I could just buy that. Not sure if I would bother collecting individual re-releases of each album. Is a few odd bonus tracks there I haven't heard though. Hmm.

ASaP rules. Think an album full of songs like "Wasted Years" and "Reach Out" and you're sort of on the right track. "The Lion" and "Down the Wire" are some of the best songs Adrian has ever written IMO.

A couple of the songs were written for Maiden but turned down. "The Lion" and "Silver & Gold", if memory serves. I read that back in 1989 or whenever the album came out, so I could be wrong.

It's not really heavy at all, just kinda... Reach Out heaviness. Adrian rules as a singer, pity he didn't sing with Psycho Motel because the first album (the only one I've heard) really suffers from a lack of a decent singer. The guy doing the vocals is kind of a Bryan Adams/Jeff Keith hybrid and, while that sort of singer might suit the music, this guy doesn't.

The second PM album pisses all over the first - and Adrian's playing is top-rate.

I believe 'The Lion' was presented to Maiden around the time of SIT/SSoaSS but the band (ie, Steve) rejected it as not being suitable. You can tell it has a heavy Maiden feel though, even through the ASaP sound. I listened to ASaP again yesterday, and it really stands up. It sounds like an 80s album, but in a good way :) And Ringo's son is an awesome drummer (Zach Starkey?).
