Bruce becomes head of airline marketing

According to The Flight Scanner online:

"Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of the heavy metal rock band and experienced pilot has been appointed head of marketing of Gatwick-based Astraeus Airlines"

Not too bad for a metal singer huh?

Interesting. Why would he do that? It's not like he's doing it for the money. Is there another motive? More Bruce Air or make it easier to have??? Sure makes me wonder.

It's probably easier for him to tour with Maiden with this position than it is when he is in the regular flight schedule. I have never heard of this airline other than its association with Bruce, if it's relatively small then it may be a problem for them when he leaves his pilot position to tour. In this position that's not a problem. Yet it would still allow him to maintain his credentials as a licensed commercial pilot so he can continue to fly Ed Force One.

What does HEAD of marketing do? He's goign to be supervising a bunch of interns and juniors while sitting at a desk? Did he watch Mad Men and fall in love with Don Draper?

I think he's taking the line, "Do more in my life, than some do in 10..." a bit too literally.

Maybe in 2 years he might become director of Human Resources for a Wall Street Asset Management firm. Or a West Coast Regional Sales Director reporting directly to the VP of Global Operations. We can only hope.

I dunno, I wouldn't be surprised if "Prime Minister" was next on his "to do" list. Seriously, it probably is because he's in a position to do much more for the airline due to his fame in terms of marketing, while being able to better accommodate his other job and allow him to keep his commercial pilot's license at the same time.
