Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" is not as amazing as I want it to be

I mean, don't get me wrong, there are some pretty great moments.

But I don't see why they went with this reverbed out sound on pretty much everything.

That is true. So I'm wondering if the reverbosity is a product of the space they recorded in? Or did the mastering engineer slather it on there? It would be a much more effective record dry, IMO.

I like the Ghost of Tom Joad better, for the same reasons because both albums have equal songwriting in my opinion...

I'll definitely have to check that out. Although I think there are some thin songwritings moments on "Nebraska" as well. Overall, I like it quite a bit but at times it seems like it could have used a bit more time in the oven.

That reverb is a production decision I just can't understand.
