Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will shortly commence work on their first new material since 2015's "Venom" album. Bassist Jamie Mathias told ARTE Concert at last weekend's Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany (see video below): "I think the plan is, at the end of this month, we're gonna have a couple of days in the studio writing and recording." Guitarist Michael "Padge" Paget explained that BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's quick return to the studio was part of a strategy "to keep the momentum of the band and to sort of bring a bit more focus back [on] our winter tour and just see what comes out. So hopefully it'll be happy days." He added: "I think we're hoping [the session will result in] two [new tracks], but if not, it'll just be one song." BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE recently signed a worldwide deal with Search And Destroy/Spinefarm Records. "Venom" was released in August 2015 via RCA. The CD marked BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE 's first release since the departure of longtime bassist Jason James and addition of Mathias (formerly of REVOKER). BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas took a temporary leave of absence from the band earlier this year to spend time with his wife, as they awaited the birth of his first child. He has since been replaced on the road by Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND).
