But now we're at home for quite a while, throughout the rest of the year — just trips here and there — so we've been working on an album at home for the first time in years, and it's really cool. Our last album we had to write mostly on the road, and now that we're home, we can really focus and dive into it, and it feels really good." Added fellow BUTCHER BABIES frontwoman Heidi Shepherd: "It's nice to be able to sit in a room together and actually write, whereas the album that we wrote, it was so funny 'cause every single off day, we would find a rehearsal studio or we'd get to a venue early and we'd write the album — unload all of our stuff, play and write the album together. So this is really nice, to be able to actually be at home. We've been home most of the summer, and it's been kind of cool to have a summer at home. [Laughs] We haven't had that in years, so it's been cool." Heidi also confirmed that BUTCHER BABIES' third album will be released in early 2017 and promised: "We've got some really neat stuff in the works." Carla told the Rock 105 radio station earlier in the year about the musical direction for BUTCHER BABIES' next record: "Me and Heidi and all the rest of the band, of course, as well, we've been sharing notes and talking about our vision for the next album and trying some different things and bringing in some different influences that we haven't done before, and we're really excited." She continued: "I was always a huge PJ Harvey fan and a fan of Poe — if you remember Poe from the '90s. When I was growing up, I loved them. So even though I'm a die-hard, old-school thrash metal chick, I really loved some of that stuff. And I'm thinking about how we could incorporate a little bit of that kind of sound." Harvey added that BUTCHER BABIES' willingness to experiment doesn't mean that the band will abandon its core sound. "I think that you evolve and you wanna try new things," she said. "And I hope people are open to hearing new things. You know, a lot of times, people only wanna hear the same sound year after year after year from a band, and it's not fun for a band to do that, because you wanna grow and you want to try new things… And we're always gonna be BUTCHER BABIES, we're always gonna be a metal band, so those elements will always be there. Never fear! But trying some new stuff never hurts." "Take It Like A Man" was produced by Logan Mader, who has previously worked with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DEVILDRIVER, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and GOJIRA.
