Quick clip for an idea I had. Guitars are Axe FX, 5150 Sim - V30 Cab - R121 mic, Bass is a SansAmp Bass Driver DI direct in with an Ampeg 8x10 impulse, Drums are SD2 Avatar with the kick replaced with Slate.

cool song thing man! mix is alright too but there's some annoying high frequencies that are killing it for me

sounds really empty and lifeless to me... but thats the mix. axe tones are usually too middy for metal tones, but after scooping the hell out of it i feel it looses some of its unique character,
leading to a lifeless tone... its not really the axes fault, but impulses... had some great success with micing the axe.
