Anything I should look out for? I don't really give a shit about cosmetics, I just want it to sound right.

I've been recording on a lopoline custom cab(with v30s) lately, but it seems like the Mesa Oversized clips I hear around here are quite a bit punchier than what I can get out of the lopoline?

edit: also, what's a really good price for one that's a tad bit dinged up?

On the back of the cabinet look at the jack plate. A lot of guys have moved the cab against a wall while there's a plug in there and it will bend in the jack-plate. If it's bent, move around the speaker cable a little while someone is playing to see if it's making any noise because at high volumes when the cab is vibrating a bit there could be some noise.

Also put your ear next to each speaker while someone is playing (not at loud volumes of course) and see if every speaker has output or any weird noises.

The rear jack-plate is kind of an expensive part to get and it also has the serial number on it so if you replace it then it won't have a serial number anymore.

I think around $450 to $550 is a good price for a used one. My friend bought a mint condition Mesa oversize full stack last weekend for $850, the cabs still had the tags on them.

yea...the lowest price i've seen on a mesa OS that isn't completely beat to shit is about $400, and even then that's at the low end of the ballpark - usually $500-600 is what i see them for used

^Elaborate further please...

If someone claims he's Richard Z. from Rammstein it's probably a scam since he sold both his cabs to Marcus and some other guy on the forum. ;)

My first craigs list fiasco ended up with me going to a guys house to buy a set of tires, which led to me getting jumped by 5 guys waiting for me. Unfortunately for them, all they got was my cash for the tires($90), and the idiots did it at their house, so I just left and called the cops. They were still there when the police came.

The cops let me take the tires too, so I guess in hindsight that was a great transaction :-)

I always keep my gun with me in my car now, and only meet in public places, or if I have to go to a house a bring someone with me. Too many whackjob criminals out there.

I've done over twenty transactions from craigslist and never ran into a problem. I've sure run into some weird people though.
