Listening to the new Byzantine and coming to the conclusion that both Chris Ojeda and Tony Rohrbough got some chops on them. A little bit of the Allan Holdsworth thing, with some shred and taste and mix pretty damned well. Though the clean singing seems a bit strained at times, still sits well in the songs. Some pretty nice riffs along the way too. Can't stop listening to "Jeremiad". Just thought I'd share some bucky fifty on a new album and suggest some give it a listen. Keep it heavy.

Byzantine are a good band, and good guys. They were one of the better bands in the area (I'm originally from Charleston, WV). There was some killer talent back then. Another great band that really had their shit together was "West by God." They weren't a religious band of any sort...they were more of a hardcore-meets-Meshuggah type, and those guys were very talented. They called the band "West by God" to poke fun of the guys that used to say "West by-God Virginia"...:) They were only about 19-20 years old back then when we were all in the area, so they're probably 25-26 now.
