Cab tests Mesa, Blackstar, 2 Marshalls

Really digging that Blackstar cab! The Mesa cab is killer too, just not as up-front.

I didn't expect the Marshall cab with the V30's to sound so radically different! Both are 16 ohms, right? All of them are slanted, right? Did you by any chance mic the bottom speakers on the Marshall? I usually get that sort of slight weirdness in the mids out of the bottom speakers in mine which is slanted. All of them are sounding killer for sure, though.

Yeah, the blackstar is amazing.
You are right the 30th anv cab has the bottom speaker miked. It's sitting on top of the blackstar and I was too lazy to switch to 2 tall mic stands.
What about the mode 4?

I have a bogner 212 os cab coming this weekend so looking forward to hearing it under a mic.

I like the MF400A more than the the Marshall cab with the V30's in this clip, but there was a bit of fizz to the tone instead of the bite the Mesa and Blackstar had. They all sound great, though, but my favorites were the Blackstar followed closely by the familiar tone of the Mesa.

Out of the three I liked the Blackstar the most, it's got the high end clarity that the other two are lacking a bit (not sure that's a good thing but I like it). I liked the Marshall the least.

Edit: on second listen, the Mesa is pretty close as well, but I just don't like that Marshall lol
