CAGE in chicago...well the burbs

Their singer was a ham if I remember.
He would go up to people and say stuff like, "Oh man, we played with EXODUS in San Diego. Have you ever heard of them?"

Bob - They have that really bulked up guitarist right?
He looked so out of place with the rest of the guys.

Good performance though. They are definitely in a league of underrated US power metal bands.

I MUST hear this song!
These are the lyrics to a bonus track called "King Diamond" on CAGE's newest:

King Diamond (European Bonus Track)
Tell you a tale of a soul that was lost, mind had gone over the edge
Painting a picture of musical madness and drilling it into your head
Deep down under the ground a thunderous evil was heard
Shocking and numbing for never before were spoken such blasphemous words

Don't look in his eyes they're black as the night
He'll make you see things in the shadows
Sinister siren of Satan himself
You'll never escape when he bellows

Now say his name !

King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself
King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself

Demons and witches will raise the undead, things will go bump in the night
His face is there painted a menacing head, he's bathing himself in the moonlight
Locked in the attic and burning the candle, he'll sing of the family ghost
Missy and grandma will echo his message : never should we break the oath

Don't look in his eyes they're black as the night
He'll make you see things in the shadows
Sinister siren of Satan himself
You'll never escape when he bellows

Now say his name !

King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself
King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself

Melissa... Belial... Abigail... Grandma...
Melissa... Belial... Abigail... The princess of hell...

His legend kept growing and quickly it spreads, his evil it flew on the wind
One day he will visit the land of the dead but don't think his haunting will end
Crossing the river he's there next to Charon, making his way cross the Styx
There on his forehead burning and branded his upside down crucifix

Don't look in his eyes they're black as the night
He'll make you see things in the shadows
Sinister siren of Satan himself
You'll never escape when he bellows

Now say his name !

King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself
King Diamond, what have you done, twisted the minds of us all
King Diamond, sinister son of the devil himself

King Diamond !
King Diamond !
King Diamond !
King Diamond !

Jasonic,

Did you ever get a chance to hear the song "King Diamond" yet?

It was their closing song... and it kicked some major rump.

Crunchy, heavy, galloping track with an infectious chorus that I was humming to myself the entire 3/4 mile walk to my car.

The Annex is located smack dab in the middle of college housing. Parking was ridiculous.

I saw the show at Legends last Sunday night but had not planned in advance on going to it. It was a last-minute decision. Got there late, FHOD and Sacred Dawn had already played. Hell Within (who I've never heard) were supposed to play but they did not, thus I only got to see Seventh Calling and Cage. Not being familiar with these 2 bands it's a bit of a surprise that I enjoyed them both. Cage may have played the King Diamond song near the end of the set. Again, I don't know the material but I remember the vocalist mentioning "King Diamond" before starting one the songs. I didn't know it was one of their songs until reading this thread just now, though. *LMAO* I think they also played a song called Kill The Devil.

Attendance for the show was pretty dismal however the Cage attitude must be acknowledged. Even though there was a dinky crowd they played like it was a packed house. That's definitely an admirable quality in a band.

Pics will be up soon including some black and whites (of Cage), which seemed to turn out the best. Actually, considering the piss-poor stage lighting at Legends (and other sports bar/music venues around here) the b&w mode with the flash seems work better under these less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

Yeah, I remember KILL THE DEVIL being the best song the one time I saw them
(Which was like Milwaukee Metalfest 2003, I think).

This thread makes me realize that I don't own any of their CDs.
I really need to change that.

I think they would be a perfect fit for Powerfest.
