I manged to get trans-siberian outcast in out little room. But we are incompatibles (same as zeppie  ). I just ripped Phenomena debut for him (and anyone else who wants it).
But I'll like to ask if the next time he's online if somebody else can get to him and viceversa, to get the album from me and re-transmitted to him.

Altogether in the name of UMOS ;) Thanks for the service pals

Indeed, I was lured into the room by a Phenomena! Had never used SoulSeek before, but Wyvern walked me through it and I was able to find my way to UM Old School chat room with minimal problems.

Thanks so much Wyvern, and those I have yet to chat with in the future. I signed up on UM for the Orphaned Land boards, but when I was sifting through all the various forums, I found this one titled "Old School". From the first few posts I knew this was a great place to hang out.

Thanks to all of you for making this this forum so awesome. :worship:

I find it a great place to hang out, except for being "incompatable" :goggly: , it's dying though, I sometimes still see delize and carnut there, as for the rest....COME BACK!

I have been to busy Sleeping! lol the room will never totally die! just a little from time to time just like this place.... We all should get together in the SSUMOS room before the Holidays to have a lil well Holiday party.... if that sounds good then lets do it we will figre out whats good for everybody and blah blah blah and do it

havent used SoulSeek since i made the shift to DC++ theres so much more awesome stuff if you know where the good hubs are at.

some good hubs are:
Hair Metal Bootlegs - hairmetalbootlegs.no-ip.com
== METAL 4 EVER == - m4e.no-ip.info
Metal Gods - metal-gods.dyndns.org
Metal & Punk - thegud.no-ip.org

Everytime I went in there this week, it was empty. Found a few bats in there tonight (Saturday), but they were all sleeping. If you guys do a scheduled party, let me know. I'll be there if I can. And I'll bring the beer...for me anyway!

Not too impressed with SS search feature. I have yet to successfully download anything after several hours of trying. Also found my WinMX won't work after I've opened SS. I have to restart computer to regain contact with WinMX. SS must be hogging up a port or something, even after I've closed it.

what's Phenomena? and is there an IRC UM/oldschool room?
does anyone use IRC here?

We just go there to chat, nothing phenominal 'bout it, you can also download from each other's pc's, I don't know what IRC is but check out SS if you want.

yeah I meant the Phenomina debut album Wyvern talked about, just curious what band that is hehe.
Anyway I'm in the room now.. though my connection is quite bad the last months. I used to dl with 30-60 kb/s, now I hardly get to 5 or 10 :(

Yea, how come you don't get yourself a DSLor cable connection? Are they not available were you live?

At the moment I pay the rate of a local phone call while online, If I want ADSL, it will cost about 100 pounds a month, that's a shitload round here, then I'll be on fulltime at 512...mmmmm..5122222*drools*
At the moment it's 56 give or take, sandsurfing in the third world :yuk:

You don't know Phenomena? Griff you're breaking my heart (manos is not around so I can flirt :p ) ...

Well in the year of our Lord 1985 something kind of extraordinary happens (well not that extraordinary but Ilike the drama). Horror Italian master Dario Argento filmed a movie called "Phenomena" http://french.imdb.com/title/tt0087909/. The music score as many Argento's movies was in charge of the legendary prog/electronic band Goblin :worship: (you do know Goblin don't you? :hypno: ).
At the same time (related or not to the movie, I'm not sure about this part) a guy by the name of Tom Galley (does the name rings a bell?) wrote an album and called some unknowns to play in it (Mel Galley, Neil Murray, Cozy Powell, Glenn Hughes  ). The result was a project mounted around a sci-fi/horror story unrelated to the movie directlky but involving also a little girl with special powers http://www.phenomenamusic.co.uk/page17.htm

There are two albums afterwards, but I have never checked them, to me the debut is the shit (like Sixx will say ;) ).
The album was released in CD format in 1992, still available in places like CDUniverse (usually European export).

The album is short but juicy, pure hard rock of the best class, far superior to many Whitesnake albums IMO, all the songs are good but standouts are 'Kiss Of Fire', 'Dance With the Devil' and 'Hell on Wings'

Saturday mornings seemed the best time to catch everyone on but I have been working every Saturday so I haven't been on.

Plus I'm utterly consumed by World Of Warcraft right now...
Right, only this Saturday was messy for me, maybe Chritsmas day

I'm in the middle of "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" and starting "Lesiure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude" but the new engine and story is damn difficult! :hypno: Played the "Doom 3" demo and it kicks ass!

I remember my friends and I running to pick up the second Phenomena album as soon as it came out. We were very disappointed. It seemed like they'd lost the magic of the first album. Never did bother purchasing the third one.

I don't think this SS deal is gonna work, Wyvern. Zeppie woke up and caught me in the room Saturday night/Sunday morning and we couldn't connect to see each other's files. Sound familiar? That firewall in my modem is probably to blame.
