Callisto - Noir

it's good and so is their other stuff, i've talked about them in the GMD before

I liked True Nature Unfolds when it came out, a quite good post-hardcore release but I'll pass this time. Every scene becomes saturated at a moment or another I guess.

P.S : Mouth of the Architect for the win.

Mouth of the Architect is just another exemple of how saturated the scene is. All these bands are a quick fix until the real deal is coming out in 2007.

no it's not, the new album is truly ace. Can't say about new Callisto, I grew tired of "Trve Nature Unfolds" quick though, a couple excellent riffs but pretty bland as a whole.

Judging from the myspace samples, this stuff has been done over and over since early 2000. It screams the "sis" worship syndrome.

Seriously dude, listen again. In extenso. Sure it has the unmistakable Isis vibe, but the songs, they are just superb. Actually, the more I listen to it, the more it is on pars with "Oceanic" in my book. It is always a matter of who comes first...

Cool, I'll try to experience the whole album instead of the myspace samples.

...which I rarely take into consideration when judging an album, unless it's a painfully obvious ripoff of course, and I agree about the MOTA album being more than a mere Isis/Neurosis clone, and their dynamics are often excellent. Here's a full track:

BTW, I liked the near-instrumental Callisto track (Pathos).
