now i really want to hear the song! :Spin:
Need recording studio or small record label (Syracuse)
Hello!
I have a 4 year old son with Autism. He is doing great since we moved to NY this past January!
One night, and no I'm not 'kooky' nor a zealot of any kind....but I honestly woke up with words and music running through my head. It was the most amazing song I have ever written or heard with the message of hope for the kids and the parents/ caregivers/ loved ones. It's a song that NEEDS to get out and give hope to so many...and yes, to help me support my son. We are alone and we are both disabled. It's grown alot in emotion, dynamics, tempo, etc since then... many have heard it including National Societies and agencies... and all agree it needs to be recorded and could very well become a banner song for the movement.
I just need help to support myself and my son and am unbelievably now, 5 months behind in receiving any child support at all.
I need a break. We need a break!
I don't need much time, it's just keys and vocal and I play it. I am open to the idea of upping this from unplugged into a bigger project if someone had some bass, drums, guitar, sax, etc....they might think it needs. BUT, as it stands, it has been said to me countless times by parents with or without Autistic kids that it is the best song ever written by a parent to a child. The simplicity of it makes it cutting and fresh.
I cannot afford to pay for this. I am looking for someone to believe in me...and I will believe in them. I am NOT an Americal Idol wannabe...I have been in the business my entire life and have even performed for a Governor while doing Autism Awareness Fundraisers....of which I was not paid but gladly gave of my talents to help the kids!
We are struggling, but making it. I would love to turn this around and afford to give my son big Christmases, outings, a safer home, (we-ve been burglarized 2X in less than 2 months and I just had to spend my small saving on an elaborate security system...there goes the Christmas account), etc...and of course, I will be saving for his college as I will be LIFELONG side by side with my son reaching for the stars! I am currently foreclosing on a 440,000 horse farm 3,000 miles away, and left nearly everything behind, including a now ex husband...to dedicate my entire life to my amazing son!.
I was even defrauded out of my last 10,000 by the ex in a bad house deal here...amazing. I guess I could be suing everybody from him, the first doctor who didn't listen to me for over a year about my son's delays, the school systems that refused to accommodate...or even have current approaches to Autism, the too many in the middle who have in any way, cost me one second of my precious time on getting my son to where he is now...or jump on the vaccine wagon...BUT...every step taken in those directions who cost me the precious time would keep me away from every second devoted solely to the therapy that must be done in the home and my endless research and journals that keep us going towards a very bright and incredible future!
Forgive me if I sound arrogant about this song, I'm not. In fact, I can also play for you many originals I know won't make it too!
Not the case with this one.
I wrote it, it is copyrighted and it's 100% mine...so no lawsuits creeping in and no liabilities about anyone else writing it first! I even made a copy of it that day and sent it to myself!!! (The good old days hahaha)
Seriously, I am worth the 'risk' and this song is a hit.
Hooks, catch phrases, pauses, breathing, outstanding vocals and very unique progressions....there's nothing like it out there...not even close.
I was amazed at how this one came to me and it tells every parents story....and brings tears.
I think even Reba would be proud of me on this one.
So, NO AMATURE wannabes who want to tag along. No home made 4 or 8 tracks. I have those.
I need the best master we can get and YES I will contract out potential profits in barter.
If you're out there or know someone who is who could help, please write back.
If it flies, we will also donate a portion to an Autism organization of my choice who does more than prints brochures saying Autism is not curable!
How ridiculous a statement to make to parents/ cargivers/ loved ones...no hope...and they wonder why these people are throwing in the towel.
How about the truth! Autism might appear quirky and unique...but aren't we all...I guess it's how anyone wants to define curable, right??
Better than boring and robotic!
In 1980, Autism struck 1 in 10,000.
3 years ago it was 1 in 300.
6 months ago it was 1 in 110.
Today it is 1 in 58.
Those numbers are representing the less than 50% that actually got screened and diagnosed correctly.
I am an advocate. I work free to help parents understand the techniques that can be used in the home. I help teach about IEP's, evaluations and what to expect from schools. I have helped others win legal battles to ensure their children stay in the areas where there are accommodating resources. I blog. I sing. I speak out. I work with State agencies to begin making this world ready and knowledgable about what I know...and I even attend classes to further educating myself about my son.
I spread awareness everywhere I go.
Most of all, my once not so long ago head banging, wall staring, speechless child is now, in less than a year and a half, singing, reading writing, doing simple math, playing board games, beating me on video games and at Crazy 8's, happy. healthy, loving and his future was turned around because I am a soldier, a learner and I never bought into the 'not curable' lies. So many more skills than those listed...and he just turned 4! Yea!!
Bill Gates, Thomas Jefferson, Daryl Hannah, Dan Aykroyd, Temple Grandin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Albert Einstein...all classified in some form of Autism....but their parents didn't believe in the 'not curable' either.
Please be out there. My time is so limited with all the duties amd responsibilities I have for my son.
I have the song, the heart, the sincerity and the desire. My cause is the most worthwhile cause on this earth. My kid, other kids.
OK, if you're still reading, please help if you can.
Thank you and God Bless,
A Mommy on the most remakable journey of her life.
It's more common than you think and the spectrum for autism is pretty large. There are people that function just fine and are autistic. I went to high school with a dude who is doing fine and was totally autistic.
Most people only see the more noticeable autistic people (the ones who fall in to the spectrum of also being delayed as well).
then are they really autistic?
If they are fully functional, and not really affected by it, then are they really autistic? Technically they may be. But that statistic if true, is obviously very misleading.
Being a citizen of Syracuse I know that being this town is news deprived, a news story about house with an autistic child being burglarized 2x would make the news
Yeah man, Syracuse is fucking boring.
Guitar Center in Syracuse is pretty lame.

This morning they ran a story about a house that had a small kitchen fire, now keep in mind they said the damage was minimal and no one was home at the time--my first thought was who cares?
