Hey

I just had one question...does anyone know the symbolism behind candlemass'logo?
candlemass%20-%20epicus%202.jpg

I didn't think it had anything to do with christianity before i saw the cover of another one of their albums...which just had a cross. Well now im just kinda confused so i hope u can help.

Thanks

I don't know what exactly is this particular artwork supposed to symbolize. However I do know that the band uses religious (including christian mysticism) themes in their lyrics as symbolism of religion's hold on the man.

On the side note...I have this shirt

Note the devil horns on the skull. Kind of an irony that it's within a crucifix. Artistic irony is a good selling point.

yeah the skull cross thingy didnt seem christian to me... but the pic above does...im gonna buy a candlemass t shirt but i dont wanna walk around with some christian band's t shirt

I wouldn't say they are christian... alot of bands have crosses as symbolism... Candlemass are a doom metal band ala Black Sabbath... Sabbath always used crosses as symbols and I would say they aren't too christian if at all  put it this way Candlemass are modern day Black Sabbath wannabe's and they are just copying their heroes...
