Candlemass -Epicus Doomicus Metallicus

Epicus is my favorite Candlemass with Nightfall and Tales of Creation right behind and when it comes to Candlemass it's either Epicus or Nightfall regarded as the bands best album. Ancient Dreams is also really great just not as good as the other three mentioned.

If you like Epicus, then keep going in order of their releases.
All Messiah albums are godly (including the S/T reunion album from 2005).

The newest with Robert Lowe on vocals is right up to par with the rest of their catalog as well, so if you would prefer to get something more current, I highly recommend it.

What they said. I also think that the trinity of vastly underated albums (6th Chapter, Dactylis Glomerata and From the 13th Sun) are...erm...vastly under rated. Each is a peach, even if not strictly in the Candlemass mould.

I like it...even if at times, I get a really strong influence from the fucking stranglers. I think that the Krux stuff has a real strong Dactylis feel to it, as, in places, does King of the Grey Islands, which I intend to ask Leif about when I meet him in less than three weeks.

...and yes, I know I sound like a smug cunt, but then, I am getting to meet one of all my all time musical idols.

Actually, anyone got any questions for Candlemass I could ask them during the interview ? (LAZY BASTARD JOURNALISM AT ITS FINEST)

Ask him why the first singer was only a session vocalist, how he got him to perform at their anniversary show, and what it was like performing those songs with him on vocals again.
