I am interested in hearing what you guys think of it. I think it might be the best since Nightfall.

It would be too bold to say such a thing ^^, but the album evokes similar and equally strong emotions so ....yes it is at least comparable with the old works. Why the hell everyone says that this one is more similar to Krux, it has an old school dark sound, and the atmosphere is closer to the old albums than anything else. Edling's inspiration is obviously endless.
Perfect, perfect album. Also Lowe's vocals are some of the best he has ever done, in a totally different style than the one he has/had in S.A.

I've been gradually feeling the temptation to forget about my disdain for Candlemass and give this album a shot. I think you just convinced me!

Messiah is lame and the songs don't sound all that amazing. This is based on Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, Nightfall, Ancient Dreams, etc. repeated listens over extended periods of time, and I am absolutely fucking crazy for doom metal.

Agreed. That said, I also think his vocals on the new SA are some of his best to date too, so this is one 'aging' vocalist who I think sounds better now than ever before.

I can't think of many other 'clean' vocalists who have improved over this similar length of time.

I've just spun this quite a few times, and I enjoy it quite a bit. The album has a different tone to it than the others, what makes this is because the riffs are harder to hear than on their previous albums. Rob's vocals are great, but Leif's songwriting is outstanding, and easily on par with Nightfall and Ancient Dreams. Every song flows like the old Candlemass we all love.
