Cant get my vocals to sit right

btw my vocal chain was something like this

de-esser
EQ (high pass at 200 and boost at 10khz)
R Comp with about -5 compressing
Brickwall Limiting
delay (very subtle)
waves rverb with vocal plate (only about 15% wet)

It just seems like i always had a problem with mixing vocals in. And i did use the searchbar for tips, but this thread is asking opinions on my mix

I'm listening at my laptop, the only thing I would change is the overall volume of the vocals (a touch lower) and maybe some automation to correct some louder - softer parts. But the song sounds good!

thanks doot! I def need to automate it, i dont know if its just me listening to my own mix or not, but the vocals just sound weird to me lol. Idk maybe im going crazy

Hey, first time you hear your own voice recorded is the weirdest thing! It took me a while to get used to it (in my head it sounded much better, haha!) But now I don't notice any difference between the recordings and my voice when I speak... so maybe it's just that :D
