Can't quite get the hang of it...

A few days ago I started learning Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth and, of course, figured out the rhythm part quite easily.

But I can't get the hang of the solo, I even read the GP3 file at www.mysongbook.com but I am not able to play it like that. I was thinking to tap it instead, what do you think?
(Except Marty = god.)

Oh, and BTW would you reccommend me a classical or some other piece that I can show off in front of my friends, I want it to sound TIGHT even only with a single guitar. I can't think of one right now. (Vai and Satriani are OK, but keep in mind that I have a fixed bridge)

Good luck, it's tough to learn Marty's stuff because of his unorthodox style. If you are trying to figure out the picking, don't even bother, because I don't think even Marty knows that one.

I think I figured it out. Sounds like Marty's playing a legato run with his right hand behind his left hand.

Oh, and Rabbit - Blind Guardian are WAY more unorthodox.
