i recently found out about this pretty awesome Japanese fusion band called Casiopea that includes bass god Tetsuo Sakurai and drum guru Akira Jimbo. Definitely check out their solos in this clip. Pretty awesome stuff.
P.S. that main bass line at the beginning has to be one of THE koolest basslines ive ever heard :headbang:

what do u all think?

freakin sweet....

i love spacey sounding fusion....

i've got the Gentle Hearts live show w/ Dennis Chambers and Greg Howe, if you want it, i'll be in gville this weekend more than likely, jammin with a buddy of mine.

x_Opeth_X: i actually have the Gentle Hearts cd bro but thanx for the offer. Thats the reason i got interested in Tetsuo Sakurai and found out about his former band, Casiopea.

Mumblefood: the song is called "Looking Up" if i recall correctly. It's on the album "Photographs".

This might be the least hip musical performance ever filmed from a visual standpoint alone, but the keyboard sound really boosts it into dweeb heaven.

The bass player's cool but the music is like smooth jazz - there's one bland drumbeat for nearly the whole thing and the solos are completely toothless not to mention rigidly one guy after the next and the keyboard tone is unbelievably fruity and the song really doesn't have much in the way of dynamic changes at all.
