I'm very interested in this unit. I really like the low freq detection in it. I could almost build a gssl clone for the same price tho...

I've used the 7720 on several of my past projects, a lot of times using it to crush the drum buss and blending that with a less crushed version. It came out pretty killer quite often. I've also done some experimenting with it on the master buss and crushed a mix upwards of 7-8 dB without much pumping going on. It was cool, but not quite the aesthetic I was going for and I lessened it.

Anywho, I've actually got mine for sale in the classifieds section. I'm asking $400 for it, which I think is a good deal. I mean, $550 for a new one is a good deal for what you get so $400 for a lightly used one should be a great deal. I'd keep it if I had some more audio work coming my way, but it's just sitting and someone really should put it to work.

Fun story: some jackhole emailed me through my craigslist ad and tried to lowball me by offering $250 for it. I'm not sure if I was more amused or insulted. It really didn't help that the dude came across as rude and condescending.

Man im glad this thread came up......hoping to get some help from you guys,

I have owned one for awhile and cant seemto get mine routed right or some
shit...The problem is a mismatch in level on one side, when inserted on the master buss. I create a new stereo external FX in Nuendo, route outupts 5-6 on FP10 1 to the inputs on the 7720, then outputs of the 7720 into inputs 7-8on FP10 2, using balanced 1/4 to xlr cables......say the right channel will be about 3 or 4 db louder.
Any suggestions?

One thing I would suggest is making sure the TRS connectors are seated all the way in. If that doesn't work, swap the input cables. If nothing changes, swap output cables. Other than that, use different inputs and different outputs from the FP10 to make sure there isn't something wrong with that unit, and if the problem still persists you might have a bad 7720.

Would you have any clips?

I don't really have any clips with stuff solo'd or any A/B clips, but since I got it last year, it's been used on EVERY single one of my mixes.

Here are a few clips:

I made these all of these drum samples myself and the CL7720 was used as the comp for that. Also on all of these clips, it was used on the 2 bus.
