That makes sense. One of the things I've noticed is that there is a lot of quality guitar writing still intact in the newer In Flames material that is very similar to their old material. What differs is that the song structures are tailored to fit Anders' strange melodic vocal explorations, and that a lot of the cooler instrumental bits are cut short to accommodate the drive to return to the "big chorus."

I would like the newer In Flames albums a lot more if they stopped trying to write "radio edit" versions of their songs as the album versions. It's amazing how a change in vocal style and song structure can significantly change the overall feeling of the music like this, even though in most other ways In Flames hasn't changed their style at all.

Kudos to that. Best description I've read/heard referring to In Flames' musical change.

I've watched some of his videos, he has done some newer ones where he mic'd up a Randall. It sounds a lot better than these toneport covers.
