Hi Guys!

Just checking in from Atlanta; I've seen a few things that might be of interest here.

- one of Cellador's guitarists was wearing a Power Quest shirt!

- I think I saw the back of a Novembers Doom shirt on someone over from me on the floor, but I never saw the front. The back had the double moon design.

- three Powerfest shirt sightings so far (including my own, of course). LOTS of questions of "will Powerfest happen next year?" I guess with a Powerfest shirt on and being from Chicagoland I get to be the expert or something. My answer is always "I hope so! I'm pretty sure they're planning for now as if its a go."

- lots of Chicago peeps down here, Kaptain Krude, Al and guys from Bavmorda, Orbweaver (Joan), Michael, Yippee38 and Yardleybates (Mike and Shannon), Rocky Racoon and Dusro, and even Sacred Dawn is in da house (well, at least the singer/guitarist whose name I can't remember).
And EDDY! <had to edit that in later, sorry man!>

- Chris Lotesto and Tony are missed!

-so far, I've got:

Awesome: Krucible, Freak Kitchen, Redemption, Pagan's Mind, Sonata Arctica
OK: Cellador, Raintime
Not My Thing: Virgin Steel, Communic (I like Communic's CDs, but their music doesn't make for a dynamic stage show, esp. with them being a three piece).

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the report and it's certainly kinda weird not partying with
all you wackjobs this year, please give my best to the usual
suspects!

Have fun and spread the Powerfest! :headbang: :kickass:

Cheese!

I swear this is NOT me!!
(Though I do possess two different ND shirts with that back)

Have an awesome rest of the weekend.

Be sure to post the Prog Power 08 Lineup once its released.

Now I'm second guessing myself, but maybe it really was ND. There are two circles, half-overlapping. One circle has a jagged perimeter, so it's probably not a moon, but the sun - and the picture is an eclipse! But then I wonder what an eclipse has to do with ND. Do they really have that design?

Be sure to post the Prog Power 08 Lineup once its released.

Surely old news by now, but:

Pathosray
Eternity
Spheric Universe Experience
Astral Doors
Volbeat
Riverside
Elvenking (whoever the hell they are)
Andromeda
Iron Savior
Jon Oliva's Pain
11. ??
12. ??

I missed being down there this year but not as much as I thought I would...I'm honestly a bit burnt out on the progpower experience so instead I went and partied with Mickey Mouse and friends! Glad everybody had a good time, we'll see if I make it back next year...line up isn't too appealing minus JOP....

Sorry I didn't say much, Ken. I was kind of all over the place this weekend. But it was awesome seeing you! :)

I was amazed at how many Chicago people were there. Al said "I think about 25% of the PP fans in attendance are from Chicago." It certainly seemed that way. :D

^^ Really? From everything that I was reading on the PPUSA forum it sounded as if this gal could have been a porn star or something. That's actually quite funny. I think the hoopla surrounding it has been a bit much. Geez, you'd think prog fans have never seen a scantily clad woman before or something.
My eyes...MY EYES! I'm joking of course. I don't want this thread to turn into a debate about the "dancer".

I actually thought about how many people I knew that were at ProgPower this weekend...quite a damn few of you! It was kinda nice. I got a break from you crazy fools. :p

Basically, there was an erotic art expo going on in the Loft, Damian from Threshold went up there, found a model who was exhibiting erotic body art, and brought her onstage completely unplanned. It caught everyone off guard. The girl was wearing nothing but a thong, and some really cool red, black, and silver painted designs that covered her body.

She had no breasts to speak of, and was clearly not used to doing anything remotely stripper-related because her "dancing" on stage seemed a bit unsteady, as if she wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. The paint covered her breasts. And honestly, I think she had pasties on her nipples. I was in the front row, and it looked to me like there were small, flat disks over her nipples, and the disks had been painted over. People freaked out because she wasn't planned as part of the show, and just about everyone was like "WOAH, wtf is this?"
