What, in your mind, constitutes cheesy metal? Or do you not think *any* metal is cheesy?

A couple of bands that I think are cheesy metal are:

Hammerfall
Rhapsody

But I like all their albums except Hammerfall's last one because that was just plain boring.

Good metal is good metal. I love it when bands go all out to be totally fucking heavy metal, like Manowar. I think its fun, and no cheese involved.

all the stuff that is considered cheesy, like spikes, leather, bullets, powermetal vocals, all that stuff, I love it.

Hammerfall is ok. legacy of kings was good. traditional metal is awesome.

One dude's cheese is another dude's filet mignon. I don't want to start any wars here, but what I consider cheese is the jump around, baggy pants wearing, disheveled hair, forsaking DJ's for musicians bands that are all the rage these days.

Sinergy has some very cheesy lyrics. And even the almighty maiden has some cheesyness to them "prowler" its a great song but pretty cheesy I think.

Lyrics that sound like a LotR book or a D&D adventure are cheesy, IMO. I don't think the music itself can be cheesy.

The whole "glam" scene...now that was truely cheesy! I'm not saying I don't like it. Iced Earth are cheesy too! It totally depends on how u define a band as cheesy! I am a Metal fan though and it doesn't matter if the band is cheesy or not if they are at all classified as Metal then I usually like it! I personally loved growing up in the whole eighties Metal movement I heard soooo many bands that had such cool ideas but since it was dubbed "cheesy" those amazing bands will never be big again. You folks may not enjoy these bands as much but here are a few in case anyone is wondering what I am talking about;
-Accept
-Skid Row
-Y&T
-Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
-Poison(some of it is really good but I warn you not all of it is worth it)
-Really old school Pantera(they used to be glam)
-Warrant
As I said I mostly listen to stuff like COB, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, etc. but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what the bands mentioned above have done for Metal music! Also do not think that I listen to these guys regularly usually just when I wanna throw a party and the people that are coming don't enjoy the "hardcore" stuff!(their words not mine)
