Chemical Experimentation...

It's old school sounding because this song is about 10 years old. I have a version of this song from a compilation cd that came out around 97 or 98. The mix on the comp cd is of course nowhere near as good as yours James, awesome work. I went to the University at Albany around the time when these guys were originally together and it's great to see them getting a proper mix. Upstate NY (especially Albany) in the mid to late 90's had a ton of bands that were at least on par with these guys, and most never got their due. Again its awesome to see this band being active again, hopefully more will follow suit and get some recognition.

I am reamping guitars right now, just took a break and listened to this...
what I was trying to achieve with my guitartones is a modern yet RAW guitarsound with a "barking" lowest string...
this has got it!

makes me headbang!

Fucking amazing guitar tone. I love hearing it soloed out, so heavy! Absolutely crushing. WOW!

The rest of the mix sounds great too! I love the old school Florida death metal vibe to this stuff (only with far better production), excited for this CD!

what old school Florida death metal sounds like this? I mean, I can see the similarity with the vocals, but do you guys really think this sounds like early Death, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel??? This sounds more like Bolt Thrower or something more than Florida death metal. I'm not saying the band is bad, but people throw around "old school death metal" and even worse "old school florida death metal" way too much these days, I'm just trying to figure out what they mean.

Sick mix though, and a pretty solid song, especially the leads.

glad you guys are digging it... the guitars are once again a combo of my 6505+ for all 4 rhythm tracks and then the first two tracks re-amped a second time out to my Krankenstein.

Sounds Great James. Great Guitarsound. Love the oldschool style. Vocals remind me of Pestilence and Pungent Stench combined.

Not asking for all your secrets or amp settings, but I am curious as to what gain settings were used on both amps, particularly when blending 6 tracks if you don't mind. If you do mind, no probs. :)

I like how much space there is in the mix,
what I really love about this mix is how nice the drums sit together, the overheads sound really good and the snare sits nicely in the mix...a good example of "drums are ONE instrument not a couple of single instruments" if you know what I mean.

good job!

That is one brutal rythym tone, the drum sounds are sick too. Sounds epic production wise. Singer reminds me of Obituary so do the grooves but mixed with a little Hatebreed riff wise.

Vocals remind me of Suffocation, too - that 'howl' is just brutal.

The bass sounds really nice. DI?

The ride actually sounds *metal* - I keep hearing the ride cymbal just being dinky and fruity, like it's a little doorbell that's afraid to live. Fuck wimpy ride cymbals. And doorbells.

I agree 100% it sounds a lot like Frank Mullen at times (especially the growl at the beginning).

For those who dig Burning Human, you should check a band called TORN ASUNDER (the one from Connecticut), they're not completely old-school but not very modern also, but they kick ass IMO. they have a NYDM/crossover/hardcore vibe i dig, which reminds me of Pyrexia, Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized, Irate and so on. Too bad they parted ways :

I'd like to pick the "recollections" album because the songs sound killer (the production could be better but is very decent).
