According to The Blast, Chris Cornell's widow is battling with his ex-wife over his estate. Vicky Cornell filed a petition to administer Chris's estate, listing herself and the Cornell Family Trust as sole beneficiaries of the SOUNDGARDEN singer's last will and testament, which was signed in 2004. Vicky believes his estate is worth at least $20 million. However, Cornell's first wife, Susan Silver, and their 19-year-old daughter, Lillian, filed docouments requesting a cut of the estate. Susan and Lillian claim they are owed child support pursuant to a 2004 divorce settlement. Susan also believes she is owed a percentage of Cornell's royalties. They want accounting of the estate to determine just how much they are owed. Vicky has objected to both claims and is seeking to dismiss them. Chris and Vicky had two children, a daughter named Toni and a son named Christopher. Back in 2005, Chris Cornell sued Silver, alleging she conspired to divert money that belonged to him to other SOUNDGARDEN bandmembers. The lawsuit also claimed that Silver held his library of music, lyrics and two Grammys hostage. The 2005 suit charged that Silver was trying to cash in on SOUNDGARDEN, in part out of "personal animus" for Cornell. The couple married in 1990. They separated 12 years later, then divorced. Cornell, who committed suicide in 2017, was honored in January at a tribute concert in Los Angeles, where the remaining members of SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE, along with METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and others, performed. A box set featuring music from all three of Cornell's bands, as well as his solo records, was issued in November. Cornell was pronounced dead on May 18, 2017 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room. SOUNDGARDEN had played a show earlier that evening. The 52-year-old had sedatives and an anxiety drug in his system, but died as a result of hanging himself.
