Chrsitian Group to protest Dio's Memorial

It's aholes like that, that make Christians look bad. They do NOT represent most Christians....grrrr.

... and yet, the common perception is that they represent ALL Christians.

Just like the good, decent Muslims NEED to speak out AGAINST Radical Fundamentalist Islam, otherwise they are ALL painted with the same brush.

I wish I could be there to organize the world's biggest mosh pit and just storm those fuckers and send them to the ground.

However, I have a feeling, as always, they'll call cops beforehand to be their bodyguards and protect them as usual - so nothing happens besides the usual screaming. Someone go there with super soakers filled with ink and spray it on them though. Also key and flatten their cars lol.

This is f**kin' ridiculous! If they cause any harm or disturbances to those who are mourning RJD's passing, I hope something truely sinister happens to them. I'm tired of close-minded idiots like this.

FARK has a hilarious headline for this:

The Westboro Baptist Church, apparently unaware of the assbeating ability of a large group of metalheads, are planning a picket at Ronnie James Dio's funeral.

The discussion thread is full of people threatening to go and do it, too.

Nothing is going to happen. No middle-aged metalhead wants to be arrested. Personaly i would bring a spray paint can though and spray their signs (and them) when they take them out lol.

Now if only we can get them to protest muslim funerals :)

Wendy Dio has already made a statement appealing for no violence in Ronnie's name at the service. Kind of a shame, really, because if ever a group of mourners might hurt the WBC bastards it would probably be the crowd from Dio's funeral. But these scum make their living by suing people who accost them at these events. For example, Big Moma Nav, if you spraypainted their signs that would be enough to have you arrested for assault. Then they'd sue you for violating their civil rights, if you have enough money to be worth suing. That's their M.O....

Hey guys, why don't we honor other people's rights of free speech no matter how much we disagree. Let's not be like them and think everyone must only think one way. True freedom is being allowed the freedom to be an idiot if you want. As long as they aren't hurting anybody. Of course, they shouldn't be allowed near Dio's funeral and some security measures should be taken to keep them out. But if they are in a public area away from the ceremony, they have the right.

Hence why I don't care. They'll be the usual yelling, screaming, pushing and then everyone goes home. Big deal.

Unfortunately you are 100% correct, you cant have a right to free speech and then decide others cant say what they wish.

I get hassle because I am proud to be English, not British, English. Some people think the flag of St George is racist or linked to hooliganism and that we shouldnt fly it in case it offends immigrants.
I think thats wrong, I hate to even contemplate that people feel this way, but as much as I can say Proud to be English they can say English is institutional racism.

Like it or lump, the only way to deal with knobjockeys like this is to not give them publicity of any kind.

That is the bunch of douchebags that show up at funerals of fallen soldiers.

I soooo want to pound one of them into the ground.

Sad but true. Damn Brits and your terms. Now knobjockeys is gonna be stuck in my head.

Here in the bay area of course, there's been innocent gay & transgendered people who have been savagely murdered and ironically these radical groups also protest these funerals because these victims lead "sinful" lifestyles.

I might be at the Dio thing with my camera crew but it's a huge "Maybe" as my roommate's planned B-day bash is next Saturday. But I must say there best not be any violence at this memorial as Dio would want it that way. Ignore those jack offs like we always do at concerts.

Off base freaks. Oh no my toyota gas peadal is stuck all the way down. Sorry I did not mean to run super stupid over. Hehehehe.

I'm always amazed (as I shake my head) at how ignorant some people are. As much as we dislike people like this and want to give them our two cents, Acujer is absolutely right. As hard as it is, I've found the best thing to do is completely ignore them like as if you don't even notice they're there.

A post I saw on these people (at http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=140446) that I thought was pretty darn funny...

"Wow.... But believing that an elderly man singlehandedly constructed a big boat is ok"

You either believe in freedom of speech or you don't. It needs to go for everyone or it isn't freedom. Funny how so many people in the so-called "Free world" are willing to die for freedom and bomb for freedom but then will fight you if you disagree with them.

The problem is worldwide though.
We had people in the UK hurl insults at british soldiers returning from Afghanistan.

The people responsible were of asian descent and I beleive some of them were not british born.

Whilst people hold the right to a freedom of speech, they also hold the responsibility for keeping the peace. If they know their actions are going to lead to conflict they are....or should be in violation of local laws.

In the uK its illegal to be prejudiced about skin colour, religion or sexual orientation, so they would be arrested if they turned up. They are only there to cause trouble, stir up hatred and create a breach of the peace (English law term for creating a scene with violence)

But having said that, some of the reactions of the Fans have also been truelly pathetic.
I understand they are grieving, but they were not close to Dio, they were not family, there no need for their emotions to run so high. They need to calm down before they become the problem.
