What's your favourite ?

I've been getting slowly into Chopin, his Funeral March and Nokturns are quite inspirational, and can reach inside the very fabric of your beeing.

I've been listening to some contemporary classical recently, not the stuff that's 'too' outside but it's fairly dissonant. Just long evolving textures, definitely what I love about it :D

Tchaikovsky does it for me, this one in particular.

my favourite, ever. Most epic music ever, written by the most awesome human being ever born in my opinion :

I love this one as well, this close to be my favourite ever too.

Horowitz playing Mozart's Piano Adagio no23 is wonderful as well.

Segovia basically invented classical guitar, check him out and his version of the bach's chaconne. Here's the Leyenda though, an awesome spanish piece :

La Catedral, epic 3 part pieces, first one is "cute" while being sad, the second one is even more, and the last one is list shredding made beautiful. denis azabagic is fucking impressive too, it's totally insane to reach this technical level and still play with your heart :

2nd movement from the Symphony for the New world from Dvorak just gets me every time ! It's simply, it's airy, it's slow, it's beautiful, and it's wonderful !

mozart's lacrimosa from his well known requiem. the awesome thing about it, is that if you listen to the whole requiem from the beginning, you don't really need to know he died in the middle of the lacrimosa, cause after that, the requiem just gets boring.. ! This version is too slow for my tast though but the video is good ! The harmonic progression around 45s up to 1:00 is genius and makes me shiver everytime !

If god exists, he inspired the Miserere to alegri ! I have an even better version in mp3 somewhere with better singers for the high notes, I have no idea who did it, it's even more eerie sounding, but here you go anyway.

BWV 1067 (i just discovered it's named Badinerie) is a small piece, i love it. Yeah I know, i'm a Bach fan :)

I don't like opera, but I like this one from Die Zauberflote of Mozart. It's epic as hell !

Piano concerto no1, Tchaikovsky. Epic intro, and the whole thing is wonderful ! This video is cool cause I watched it live on TV a long time ago, IIRC it's in Berlin, live for free, outdoor. Plus, Lang Lang is so entertaining for a pianist, for a change ! :

BWV 244 St Matthaus passion "erbarme dich". So sad mood.

It had to be mentionned : the BWV 565 Toccata et Fugue
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xrn2y_bach-toccata-et-fugue-bwv-565_music

Beethoven's Moonlight sonata, although kinda fast on this version :

Chopin's nocturne (can't remember which one, there are a few dramatically sad ones) but with violin, for a change. IIRC the second descent from high notes is tremendous ! She's wonderful.

Dvorak again, his Rusalka is simple but beautiful.

Can't stand most of the romantic period and don't have much time for classical either. However, Bach and Shostakovich are all time favourites, I could never get bored of them.
