"Close my eyes" - Who knows the speech of CNN TV-reporter?

Hello PAIN fans! Who can understand the background words of "CLOSE MY EYES" (from "Nothing remains the same" album), the speech of CNN TV-reporter from 2-30 to 3-00? I cleary understand only his last words: "... for CNN". Who is this person? And what it's all about? I guess this quote about some conflict/fighting/war? Who knows that???

This was a difficult one, but I found the transcript from CNN, so yes it is a real news story.

The main story was "Leading Osama Adviser Possibly Killed; Does Bin Laden Have Nuclear Weapons?" from November 2001. Here is the section that is quoted:

They're believed to be very heavily armed. They have about 100 artillery guns and 60 tanks.

Now commanders here expect the fighting in Kunduz to be the heaviest of this campaign so far. What's happening at the moment is Northern Alliance commanders are in touch with some of the Taliban fighters there. They're trying to engineer some defections, but it's still not clear if the hard core Taliban fighters, the Uzbeks, the Pakistanis, will accept any surrender terms.
