Hi guyz,
I'm continue with mixing/mastering of the material for my "Cold Resistance" project(melodic death metal).
I have mixed another song, I tried to improve drums sound (especially snare). Also, I've made slightly different EQ-ing on master bus (more HF, scooped mid).
ENGL Savage amp, SD2 Metal Foundry.
Listen, enjoy and feel free to write your opinion.
Thanks in advance,
Dmitry Gubsky

i love melodic death and my band is melodic death core but this mix is weird.i mean dont hear the song some day and take listen after 2 days with fresh ears and you will see that guitars dont sit in the mix the drums are way back and the snare is sounding bad try to mix it with other cheers!

Thanks for detailed answer,
I'm not sure that this songs need bigger drum. I know that modern deathcore/metalcore usually has bigger (nearer) drum sound and I like that sound (for example -The Acacia Strain - Wormwood), but.....I want another picture inside mix, hope it works in this way.

ok i see your point well i heard some of that album and you are missing the body of the mix you dont have balls on the mix guitars try work on the low end and low mids:) i hope i helped you now cheers dude

Need more bass (because it is the basement for guitars), thicker drum sound (plus maybe more room on them).
Sometimes vocals have unpleasant lower mid resonances in the reverberation tail. Little more "edging" compression to them also.

As for bass, you can add a distorted track to it (so as in this article).

The whole mix sounds not bad to me at all. Just need few corrections.
