"He was the Jesus of heavy metal..." We all miss him, but it's time to move on.

The new disc doesn't stray from his formula over the past few discs regardless of the new writing partner.

After spinning it a few weeks I enjoy the riffs but there is something in the production that reminds me of nails against a chalk board. Dunno what it is but its in the guitars although the tone is nice...very weird.

Few really kick ass tracks but also some fillers. The next batch of Frontiers Records releases are better (King Kobra, James Christian)...and another live Whitesnake album? WTF LOL

Not sure I'm following this thread. Haven't heard any new Jorn since Spirit Black. Are you guys saying its another album of Dio worship, or just kinda lame (aka not as good as Nations or Duke) and/or uninspired?

I have not heard it, but I'm sure I know what missing/wrong with the album...the same thing thats been wrong with the last few...

No Jorn Viggo Lofstad!

JORN Release Official 'Traveller' Video

Frontiers Records has announced the release of a brand new – all original – studio album JORN, Traveller, on June 11th in North America and June 14th in Europe. The band has unveiled the official video for the title track below:

Traveller is his eighth studio album under the Jorn banner and represents the first product of the pairing of Jorn Lande and the new guitarist Trond Holter (WIG WAM, DREAM POLICE). The result is eleven new songs encompassing a variety of moods and styles, with Lande’s voice shining through memorable anthems, backed by wonderful grooves and tightly-executed classic and melodic heavy metal.

“This album has all the elements of the Jorn legacy,” says Lande. “It is heavy, but still very melodic and experimental, and it really rocks! As usual we haven't spent much time analyzing the material before recording it, this is an album about life, doom and death reflecting on what I know and thoughts about what I don't.”

You can sample four songs from the new album below:

Hmmm. I actually like what I'm hearing. It's certainly a return to form after the abysmal 'BHRTTL'. Sure, it's still very much in keeping with Jorn's longstanding formula. But if it ain't broke... You sure won't catch Daisy May's changing their chili recipe.

Personally, I think Jorn NEEDS a strong musical personality to create with. It's why his partnership with the other Jorn worked so well.

For those of you looking for another ARK album, it ain't gonna happen with just JORN. That's not to say I wouldn't be excited to hear another one myself. He's not going to allow someone else to join his band and tell him what to sound like. I imagine that's why he can't seem to stay in another band, but his own. When JORN releases a new solo album though, I know what I'm gonna get...Dio worship! I have no problem with that.

Outside of songs #4 & #5, I like this album. It does have a slight song writing improvement.

JORN Premiers 'Cancer Demon' Video

A special message from Jorn Lande: "'Cancer Demon' is a special song with a strong message that most people unfortunately may be able to relate to. The song is written with the intent to shed some light on one of the world's worst illnesses: cancer. I have had the privilege of recording this video in a medieval chapel in Sarpsborg, Norway. I think this location makes the message stronger and more direct, as the lyrics also are. The song might seem brutal, but I think people can relate to and embrace it for its honesty, and see it as a daring, but beautiful thing to do. The pressure of trends and business may overshadow our presence these days, and by striving to be politically correct, people forget to live and breathe, while there's still time and health is good. I'm sure many of you know someone who lost their battle with cancer, or maybe someone who won it. Personally I lost friends, family and colleagues through the years. "Cancer Demon" has a lyrical message beyond what rock or metal bands would normally write, and therefore I believe it is more unique. This message should be available for everyone rather than swept under the rug. Help stop the ”Cancer Demon” now, and make a donation!"
