Compressor difference

What is the difference between a regular stereo compressor and a "Mastering" compressor.

I am speaking purely VST here.

After 89 views and no replies I think it's safe to assume there is no difference, well perhaps a marketing one lol.

Differences are mainly about function and sound aesthetics. Mastering compressors are usually not as "colorful" as other compressors, and their parameters are designed around their function: to act as the final compressor in the audio chain and limit the output level. In that sense, they are essentially compressors with very high ratios - but then again, it really depends on the plugin.
