Why do all of the great ones go early? I mean really.

Stevie Ray Vaughan
Chuck
Cliff Burton
Jimi Hendrix
the list goes on and on.

May I add a few: Randy Rhoads, Criss Olivia (Savatage), Eric Carr (Kiss), Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone), Randy Castillo (Ozzy/Motley Crue), Layne Stayley (Alice In Chains),Paul Baloff (Exodus). I'm sure there are more.

The most overrated dead person of all. Kurt Cobain.

Control Denied is very reminiscent of Savatage/Fates Warning.

Control Denied wasn't a "project"... chuck was trying to get away from Death, move onto bigger and better things... he recorded almost all the music for a second album before he died... The Sound of Perserverence was intended to be the last Death album, not just cause Chuck died... Control Denied is something completely different from Death, its what Chuck was moving towards... the emptywords.org site has said when they are done in the courts, the 2nd Control Denied CD will be released... it was supposed to be out in 2002 or 2003... but here we are in 2004 still waiting... i can't wait, i want to hear the last recordings of Chuck so bad...

For god sake's guys... take the time factor into account... For his time, Cliff was fuckin' genius!
Not really, there were many other bass players out at that time who were much better than Cliff, he was just high profile for some reason.

and I was around during that time so don't say it has anything to do with my age, I am plenty old.

But I will admit, I wish the bus fell on Lars or Hetfield rather than Burton.
