Hello peoples of the internet land. My band Control just released our debut album The Teeth & The Wounds which was recorded with Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studio.

Our sound is a mix of various aggressive styles of music and our heaviness extends past aesthetics. We've found metal to be largely lacking in feelings that are truly heavy, so we decided to craft our own corner of the world where heavy feelings are a centerpiece. While we have no issue with songs of zombies, the apocalypse, god/satan and other fantasy themes, we connect most with music that speaks to us as humans and the experiences we have had. With heavy music that means pain, loss, trauma, abuse (physical/sexual/emotional) isolation, etc. I feel humans have a need to share experiences, and sharing our suffering is powerful and humanizing.

We also value the real sound of a real band. You know, minus the triggers, click tracks, tracks pieced together from 50 punch-ins, midi drums, guitars recorded at half speed and sped up, etc. that is virtually inescapable now days for music listeners. Heavy or not. Which is why we recorded with live instrumentation. All natural flow and power, warts and all. We feel it is more valuable to the listener to hear the natural power and expression put into a drummer's double kicks than the flat, computerized perfection that is pervasive in modern metal.

If you dig any of these perspectives, give us a spin. We hope you can connect with it. www.refusecontrol.com
