Ok, ok I know I a huge fanboy of the new Candlemass album and I have it high on my top ten for this year. Also I was pretty pleased with the new Forsdaken album and even dig the doom path Heaven And Hell took on their studio debut. But after 13 years Count Raven just came back with a fucking vengeance!
MW not only doesn't miss a bit from the previous CR albums but the fact that even with a whole rhythm section change, Dan Fondelius managed to keep the composition, guitar playing, vocals (awsome considering the time passed) and some beautiful mesmerizing keyboards at such level thet they definitively raised the bar for traditional doom for 2009.
If you love classic doom (not stoner) and you already had the taste for CR the new album will let you in awe, and if you haven't check the band before...well the new album is a perfect point to start, and then get the whole back catalogue
