Cradle Of Filth bassist, Daniel Firth, has released the debut single from his new side project, Braefarer. The single, “Into A Dream”, is available via Bandcamp, and you can find a visualizer for the song below.
Said Daniel via the project’s Facebook page, “I’m very happy to announce my brand new solo folk project today, called Braefarer.
“To kick things off, I’ve recorded a debut single called ‘Into A Dream’, which is already available for listening. It’s a tranquil tune, featuring myself on acoustic guitar, fretless bass, and vocals, giving a gentle introduction of what’s to come for the project.
“As this is day one, any assistance in getting things off the ground is especially appreciated, whether that’s following the new socials, sharing, or simply taking the time to check out the song. If you really want to go above and beyond, I’ve got a small amount of merch available for pre-order on Bandcamp, which I can start sending out in a couple of weeks.
“Big thanks to James Dunkley for mixing and mastering ‘Into a Dream’.”
In another post, Firth said, “Massive thanks to everyone who checked out the first Braefarer song yesterday, especially those who bought the digital single or some merch. You’re amazing! The feedback has been really encouraging so far, and to answer the most common question, yes, there’s more coming.
“On this post is a clip from the single, ‘Into A Dream’, which I’m going to include the lyrics for below. To give some insight into the song, the subject is about as simple as can be – it’s about finding and appreciating a moment of serenity in a hectic world, such as drifting off to sleep on a warm day with the sun overhead.
“Sun pales to peach through closed eyes
Bakes the skin, wakes a smile
Slowly rolls through the sky
Takes the strain for a while
…just a while
Thoughts float like dandelion seeds
Swirling soft on the breeze
Drifting up through the trees
Melting into a dream
Into a dream…”
